The School

Founded in 1846, East Coloma has a long tradition of excellence in education.  Located on the east side of Rock Falls, District 12 encompasses 7.5 square miles and serves approximately 270 kindergarten through eighth grade students.  Students graduating from East Coloma continue their education at Rock Falls High School in Rock Falls, Illinois.  While our elementary grades are organized as self-contained classrooms,  middle school grades six through eight offer departmentalized instruction.  Physical education and vocal music instruction are also provided by specialists in those areas. Our school maintains specialized programs which support students with a variety of special needs.  East Coloma is in a rural residential setting and is surrounded by approximately fifteen  acres of school property which include a playground area, athletic fields and a school prairie plot.
