Academic Structure (for Hybrid Learning Students)

  • Every student has been separated into group A or B.
  • A schedule has been sent out as to when the A and B groups will be in-person and when at-home learning will occur.
  • The rosters were designed to accommodate for siblings and scheduling issues.
  • Middle School Staff will utilize on-line platforms. Primarily Google Classroom will be the source for content distribution, academic communication, and assessment. Other platforms will be used by individual teachers.
  • Google Mail and Teacherease will also be utilized for communication. Staff, students, and families will all need to monitor these platforms to ensure student success.
  • Students will be assigned a computer device. They will need to transport this computer home and back to school daily. This includes both in-person days and at-home days. Chargers will be provided and must also be brought back and forth daily.
  • Every effort should be made to ensure the device is fully charged prior to coming to school each in-person day.
  • Students will be expected to complete assignments, assessments, and projects on time. Their grades and academic promotion to the next level can be impacted by a lack of participation or completion.
  • All students are expected to use the assigned school device when completing school work, taking assessments, or for virtual lessons.
  • Attendance will be taken both in-person and during at-home learning.
  • Backpacks will be needed and carried throughout the day (preferably with a protective pocket for the laptop).
  • Lockers will not be used at school.
  • Students will remain in their homerooms. Teachers will move from room to room. This is being done for the safety of our students.

In-Person Learning Days (for Hybrid Learners)

  • Students will be allowed into their classroom at 8:00am.
  • Temperature checks and other safeguards are still in place.
  • The daily schedule that has been put into place will continue. Students in the middle school will partake in English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
  • At the end of the day students will be asked to go directly out a designated exit and to the pickup lot or bus.
  • On occasion, students may stay after for assistance or be asked to stay after for in-person academic help.
  • After School behavior consequences are served after school on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday depending on when it is assigned.
  • Lunches will be eaten in the classroom.

Home-based Learning Days (for Hybrid Learners)

  • Students must check-in daily by responding to a Google form. This must be done daily between the hours of 8:00am and 2:00pm. This is how they will be counted for attendance. If this is not done or if it is done during a time not designated (before 8:00 am or after 2:00pm), then they will be counted as absent for the day.
  • The middle school attendance form will be emailed through Teacherease and located on the school website.
  • On days of absence, parents/guardians will still be required to contact the office to report the absence.
  • Students can contact teachers for assistance between 2:00pm and 2:40pm daily through email, by phone, or on Google Classroom. Teachers may be contacted outside of these hours but may not be available for immediate responses. Teachers will strive to respond within 24 hours or less.
  • Once again, students are expected to use the school-provided device to enhance teacher assistance.

Academic Structure (for Full Remote Learners)

  • Even though these students are not in person, these students will still be assigned an A or B group designation.
  • Virtual instruction will be provided through a mixture of virtual lessons, recorded lessons, content distribution, and assessments (on-line and at-times in person).
  • The remote learning schedule is modified. There will be ZOOM virtual lessons scheduled for every Wednesday and as designated/ assigned by the classroom teacher. The times will be communicated by the individual teacher. Other ZOOM lessons may occur on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays as determined by the teacher and organized with students.
  • All assignments, projects, and assessments will match the due dates of the hybrid (in-person/at-home blend) students. At times, these activities will be modified to support the at-home/virtual design.
  • Grades will be calculated using the same model as in-person or hybrid learners. Grades can negatively impact a student’s progress if there is a lack of completion, late submissions, or other issues.
  • Students will be provided and assigned a school computer and charger.
  • All students are expected to use the assigned school device when completing school work, taking assessments, or for virtual lessons.
  • Students must check-in daily by responding to a Google form. This must be done daily between the hours of 8:00am and 2:00pm. This is how they will be counted for attendance. If this is not done or done during a time not designated (before 8:00am or after 2:00pm), then they will be counted as absent for the day.
  • On days of absence, parents/guardians will still be required to contact the office to report the absence.
  • Students can contact teachers between 2:00pm and 2:40pm daily through email, by phone, or on Google Classroom. Staff may be contacted outside of these hours by teachers may not be available for immediate responses.
