East Coloma-Nelson School is canceled tomorrow on Wednesday, February 12th due to inclement weather. Please be safe!

Exciting things are happening in fourth-grade science! Students recently explored electricity through a fun hands-on experiment using balloons to create static electricity. Tissue paper cupid takes flight with a little electricity!

🎄✨ A big shoutout to our brilliant third graders for solving the mystery of "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer!" 🦌 They used deductive reasoning, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to identify the culprit! 🕵️♀️💡 Ask a third-grader which reindeer was guilty of this crime!

7th grade has balanced the equations and created the electron configurations and now it is time to test out the process!

ELA Connecting Classrooms:
Our 8th grade ELA class just wrapped up an amazing collaboration with another 8th grade class from Iowa during our novel study of “The Outsiders!” From the very beginning, we connected by introducing ourselves though letters, sparking a friendship that grew with each chapter discussion. Throughout the novel, our classes dove deep, sharing our perspectives and insights on the book’s powerful themes- loyalty, identity, family, etc. We ended with a lively zoom debate on which theme we each believed was the most relevant and impactful and discussed why.

🌟 Big shoutout to our incredible 5th graders! This year, they’ve poured their hearts into creating a music album all about their classmates! 💖 They started by interviewing each other, summarized their findings, and then crafted lyrics using MagicSchool. 🎤 The result? Original songs created with Suno and stunning covers made in Canva! 🎨
✨ Want to hear their masterpieces? First visit the album: bit.ly/5thGradeAlbum.
Then you can click the link or scan the QR code on each individual page to listen! 🎶

Our 4th graders wrapped up their Northeast geography unit with a glow party! 🎉✨ They even created their own lava lamps in STEAM! 🌈💡 It was an unforgettable celebration of creativity and learning that lit up the room! 🌟

🦇✨ 1st graders are on a bat adventure! They’ve learned all about these fascinating creatures in class and created their own flying bats with movable wings in STEAM class! 🎨💡

Our 2nd-grade students have taken their robotics study to the next level in STEAM by drawing their very own robots! 🤖🎨 They will be entered into an exciting art contest hosted by Tricia Fuglestad, the talented author of Peter-O-Meter! What a fun way to blend creativity with technology!

Rocket scientists in the making!
